Wesley Trout's monthly articles were always a greatly-anticipated feature of Boxoffice magazine during the 50s, 60s and until the time of his death, about 1978. Although he tended to reprint information found in the equipment manuals, Wesley had a style all his own. Direct from his desk in Enid, Oklahoma, and heralded with a photo of his kindly face; articles with such ambiguous titles as, "Servicing Platter System Requires That You Know What You're Doing," and "Quality Theatre Sound Requires Meticulous Upkeep of Equipment", were nonetheless an oasis for information-starved projectionists and aspiring field engineers like myself. He also sold a loose-leaf service manual, with free updates for one year! His
contribution to the education of present-day motion picture service
engineers is hereby noted and is much appreciated. CLICK HERE to see Wesley's very FIRST article! Tim
